Develop elite takedown skills, clinch work, and top pressure. Essential training for every grappler.
Wrestling is the foundation of every great grappling game. Before submissions, before sweeps, before guard work — the fight starts on the feet. Whoever controls the takedown controls where the match goes and how it ends.
At Lucid Jiu Jitsu, our wrestling program is built specifically for grapplers. We take the most effective techniques from folkstyle and freestyle wrestling and integrate them into a system designed to complement your BJJ, whether you're a brand-new beginner or a seasoned competitor.
The grappler who dictates where the fight happens holds a decisive advantage. A strong wrestling base means you can take the match to the ground on your terms — and walk away from takedown attempts when staying on your feet is the smarter play.
Our competition-tested curriculum focuses on the positions and situations that come up most often in submission wrestling and no-gi grappling. You'll train in scrambles, chain your attacks, and develop the relentless top pressure that breaks opponents' structure and opens submissions.
Every wrestling class is structured to build on itself — from the ground up. We open with stance and motion work to build the athletic base everything else depends on, then move into technical instruction where you drill with a partner until the movement becomes instinct.
The second half of class shifts to situational wrestling and live rounds. You'll put techniques under pressure against resisting training partners, developing timing, reaction speed, and the conditioning that separates wrestlers who train from wrestlers who compete.
