Fun, structured classes that build discipline, confidence, and anti-bullying skills. Ages 5-12.
Every parent wants their child to grow up with the tools to handle life's challenges — on and off the mat. At Lucid Jiu Jitsu, our kids program goes far beyond teaching techniques. We use jiu jitsu as a vehicle for developing the whole child.
From their very first class, children learn how to set goals, persist through difficulty, respect their training partners, and carry themselves with confidence. They build real friendships, develop a growth mindset, and discover what they're capable of when they commit to something.
Our coaches are experienced not just in jiu jitsu, but in working with children of all temperaments — from shy and cautious to high-energy and bold. Every kid gets individual attention and genuine encouragement.
Children learn best when they're engaged and having fun — which is why every class at Lucid Jiu Jitsu is designed to be active, positive, and rewarding. Our curriculum is age-appropriate, carefully structured to match the physical and cognitive development of kids ages 5-12.
We use positive reinforcement at every stage. Kids earn recognition for effort, improvement, and good character — not just athletic performance. Our belt progression system gives children clear, tangible goals to work toward, building the habit of goal-setting that serves them far beyond the mat.
Older and younger students are grouped appropriately, and our coaches create an atmosphere where teamwork and mutual respect come naturally. Bullying has no place here — and kids leave each class knowing how to stand up for themselves and others.
Every kids class at Lucid Jiu Jitsu follows a consistent, well-paced format that children quickly learn to look forward to. Classes run approximately 45-60 minutes and are designed to keep energy high while building real skill over time.
Each session begins with movement and games that get kids warmed up, laughing, and focused. Then the coach introduces one core technique — broken down into clear, simple steps that even first-timers can follow. Students drill the technique with a partner, reinforcing the movement through repetition in a supportive setting.
At the end of class, age-appropriate controlled sparring gives kids the chance to apply what they've learned in a live but safe environment. This is where confidence is truly built — not from being told they're great, but from discovering they can handle a real challenge.
