3 Minutes from Woodmere to the Mat
Lucid Jiu Jitsu is located at 1439 Broadway in Hewlett, directly bordering Woodmere along the Broadway corridor. If you're coming from the heart of Woodmere — around Woodmere Boulevard or the Woodmere Club area — it's a straight shot down Broadway. You'll see us on the left just past the Hewlett border. Door to door, most Woodmere residents arrive in 3 to 5 minutes.
If you prefer public transit, the Hewlett LIRR station is a short walk from the academy, and the Woodmere station is just one stop east on the Far Rockaway branch. Street parking is available directly in front of the building and along Broadway, with plenty of spots in the evening when most classes run.
We're open Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 9 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to noon. Evening classes start at 6 PM and 7 PM most weeknights — perfect timing for Woodmere commuters heading home from the city.

Adult & Kids Classes for Woodmere Families
Our adult jiu jitsu program covers both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for all experience levels. Classes run multiple times per day Monday through Friday, with lunchtime sessions at 12:30 PM and evening sessions starting at 5 PM, 6 PM, 7 PM, and 8:15 PM depending on the day. Whether you're training for fitness, self-defense, or competition, the curriculum is structured to move you forward at every stage.
For younger students, our kids jiu jitsu program serves ages 7 to 14 with classes designed to build discipline, coordination, confidence, and anti-bullying awareness. Kids classes run at 6 PM on Monday through Thursday and Sunday mornings at 10 AM. Many Woodmere parents drop their kids off for class while running errands in Hewlett — the convenience factor is hard to beat.
Both programs are taught by experienced black belt instructors who prioritize safety, technique, and a supportive training environment. New students always get extra attention to make sure they feel comfortable and prepared.
